Women’s March

During Trumps Inauguration, there was a women’s march. People came to uplift each other in the light of Donald Trump’s new presidency. Women were seen holding signs with remarks towards their femininity. Men were seen holding signs showing support for the females in their life. Children were seen holding signing hoping to protect their future.

You can visit the women’s march website at, www.womensmarch.com to read about their cause and local marches and support near you. The mission statement could be read on their website stating, “We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families – recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.”

In the wake of Trump’s inauguration, many citizens have become fearful of the future for America, so to support each other, they came up with a woman’s march. Many notable celebrities joined to support including Madonna, Miley Cyrus, and Blake Lively.

Alicia Keys, who also attended the march stated, “We are mothers. We are caregivers. We are artists. We are activists. We are entrepreneurs, doctors, leaders of industry and technology. Our potential is unlimited. We rise.”

All of these people have one thing in common: they are concerned with the national security of our country because of Donald Trump. More than one million people showed up for the event and it was globally celebrated.

The “Women’s March” was not only relevant for women, though. Minorities, members of the LGBT community, disabled citizens, and many other groups were there to all support one single cause. Many anti- Trump citizens believe protests such as these should continue. It is unclear what these protesters have planned next for America. They are vowing continue with this cause until the problem is fixed, a popular phrase becoming, “Trump is Not My President.” With their loud voices and thoughts, they are being heard nationally and many other are supporting their rights too. I agree that by joining together, citizens will make a bigger, lasting impact on our future. The Women’s March is a good beginning to help America.
