TWP choir is hosting their annual Pops concert this weekend. The show “Moving Forward” will be video streamed via BookTix Live from May 8-10th.

The show will consist of 25 acts performed by Mixed Chorus, Treble Chorus and Chorale. Acapella groups Momentum and Dynamics along with various solo acts will be performing as well. The concert will include songs by Queen, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande and more.

Unlike any other year, this year brought several challenges during the planning of the show. Typically, the concert is held in February. It is a one night only event filled with excitement. However, due to this year’s unique circumstances the organizers of this event had to get creative.

In order to prepare for this weekend’s streaming event, the show was filmed over the course of several nights, with each night divided up to film portions of the show. The first night of filming, for instance, consisted of recording the combined ensemble songs (Mixed, Treble and Chorale), along with Mixed Chorus’s song. Students were required to show up to the Investor Bank Performing Arts Center on their designated filming night(s) wearing all black attire; they were provided with a black surgical mask to wear during the filming. Students were all staged 6 feet apart from each other

DFX, Wizard Audio, and TV production students were all responsible helping to make this concert happen. The overall goal of this concert is to provide a sense of community and show others how we can all work together to move forward from difficult situations in life.

This year a portion of the show’s proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund. The show will be available for streaming on May 8th at 7:30 pm, May 9th at 2 and 7:30 pm and on May 10th at 7:30 pm. Stream passes can be purchased for $15 by clicking the following link For updates on this event and more follow @TWPChoirs on Twitter and @twpchoir on Instagram.
