Maeve Fitzgerald – Recording Secretary

1. Why are you running for this position?

I am confident in my ability to lead. I am passionate about improving the TWP Community. I always am seeking greater opportunities to make a positive change, and I take pride in making TWP a better place.

 

2. What qualities do you have that make you stand out compared to other candidates?

I stand out for my whole-hearted dedication, creativity, and my outgoing and lively personality. I contribute innovative solutions to complex problems. I am a leader who is adaptive to any situation and maximizes the impact of a common goal. To me, leadership is also your attitude. I bring an upbeat and positive mindset to anything and everything. I bounce back from difficult circumstances successfully and can achieve anything I put my mind to. My character is what makes me stand out from other candidates.

 

3. What do you believe makes you a great student leader?

My ability to remain resilient in challenging circumstances and persistence in exceeding expectations makes me a great student leader. As a leader, my integrity and accountability make me effective, especially in decision making and facilitating. I pursue tasks with an undeniable dedication that propels me towards success. However, what is most unique about me is my love for people. I am passionate about building an uplifting culture and positive relationships within the high school. My compassion for others and drive for results is what makes me a successful leader.

 

4. If you win, what do you want your legacy to be at Township?

I would want to be remembered as someone who valued and listened to anyone and everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from. As a leader, I believe the most impactful way to lead is through compassion and servant leadership. In this position I will be a member of the team, not simply a delegator. I sincerely believe in earning respect by giving it. As Recording Secretary, I will define myself as someone who advocated for what was right.

 

5. Who has provided the most positive influence on your development as a leader?

The most positive influence on my leadership has been my mom. I have learned to go the extra mile from her example, even when it’s hard. My mom has taught me to be grateful for who I am today and keep working towards who I’ll become tomorrow. She has influenced me to persevere through obstacles and continue to smile when it feels like the world is against you. Her selflessness and drive to help others inspire me, and my leadership style, every day.
