Ten candies you need on Halloween
There has always been a huge market for candy, especially in the United States, but during the month of October the demand for candy explodes. While there are hundreds of pre-packaged delicacies, there is always a debate surrounding which candies are incredible and which candies are inedible. However, based off personal preference, these are the 10 best candies on the planet.
- Gummy Bears
Haribo absolutely killed it when creating these bear-shaped gelatinous treats. They are sweet from the first to last chewy bite. Gummy bears are viable option anytime, and are a Wawa staple.
- Skittles
Skittles manage to perfectly thread the needle between sweet and too sweet. Once the outer shell gets broken and the sweet, fruity interior is unveiled, it is hard to stop eating them. Plus, the product line is very diverse, including Original, Sour, Wild Berry, and Tropical Skittles.
- Butterfinger
Who would have thought hardened peanut butter would taste so good? This chocolate coated, peanut butter-filled classic is the first, but certainly not the last, chocolate candy on the list. Butterfinger manages to be both satisfyingly crunchy, but not so crunchy that it’s hard to eat.
- M&M’s
Simply put, there is a reason M&M’s have been around for so long. They are tiny, slightly addictive, chocolate filled pieces of greatness. They manage to find a way to make every bite exactly the same, but it never gets redundant or boring.
- Twix
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a Right or a Left Twix; they’re both gorgeous. Shortbread topped with caramel and coated with chocolate just sounds perfect, but it doesn’t quite do Twix justice. They are crunchy and chewy at the same time, and they only barely missed a top five slot.
- Milky Way
The first top five slot is filled by the best caramel candy in the galaxy. It is both crunchy and soft at the same time, which is a quality few other candies have. The mix of nougat, caramel, and chocolate in your mouth is an unusual, but great combination.
- Reese’s Pieces
It’s like an M&M, but better. Hard shell, with some chocolate, and some hardened Reese’s peanut butter in the center. Whether you take a handful, or eat it one at a time, it’s a top tier candy.
- Swedish Fish
Swedish candy producer Malaco absolutely hit it out of the park with Swedish Fish. While bright red fish might not sound like a top three candy, Swedish Fish are. They’re sugary, gummy, and so simple, but so good.
- Sour Patch Xploderz
There are tons of different variations of Sour Patch Kids, but this dark horse variation stands alone at the top. Most people haven’t had this obscure member of the Sour Patch product line, but it’s still the second-best candy on the planet. It has a chewy, sour outer shell, and a sweet juice in the center that gets released when you bite into it.
- Reese’s Cups
The far and away best candy in the world is the classic chocolate and peanut butter Reese’s Cup. Every single bite is just utter perfection, and you just can’t help to feel bad for people with peanut allergies. Whether it’s the cup, egg, tree, or even a mini Reese’s, they are still an absolute godsend, and the greatest candy to ever grace planet Earth.
