Snow Storm Jonas

I am sure most people are aware of the small amount of snow we have been getting. Due to recent reports I am beginning to believe that the weather is catching up with us. On early Sunday we received a small amount of snow leaving a white blanket covering New Jersey. The snow fall was not heavy and it was surely not something to worry about. If anything I’m sure most of us were very excited since it was our first real snowfall, I know I was! But this weekend there could be a whole new issue to worry about.

Maybe some people have already heard that we are due for a snowstorm this weekend.            The high winds are believed to start up early Friday and go into early Sunday. There is even said to be 50 MPH wind gusts. The Weather Channel is also saying that this is the type of storm to produce six inches. They are even saying the snow might pile up fast and could possible hit twelve inches.

A storm like this could cause many problems. Some of these problems include motorists who decide to venture out in the storm could get lost, flight delays due to heavy snowfall, high tides, and much more.  The Weather Channel has also named this storm Jonas. They are also saying that this could be the first storm in thirteen years to dump a foot of snow on the entire Northeast megalopolis. Most of New Jersey is already in a Winter Storm Watch and other states around are even in a Winter Storm Warning. Some or all of the largest cities in the Northeast like Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York will be significantly impacted by this storm.
