Just Keep Swimming

WTHS is home to many sports and not all students are aware that swimming is something that our high school is very talented in. Many teammates of the swim team are very ambitious and are looking to do great things this season. “With a new coach this year and some new freshman I’m expecting a solid season”. Said Kyle Hoose ‘19.

The team has high expectations for the new coach of this years season. Like sports at WTHS the team practices everyday. Amelia Almindi ‘19 explain her experiences at practice,”We warm up at practice with a 500 freestyle then we move into other skilled based drills”.

This team has a lot of determination to finish with a positive record this year although the Boys and Girls teams both lost their first meet, they still believe in the team and will have a great season all together.

One of the greatest thing about this team is that they stay positive after a loss and come back the next meet even harder to try and take home the win. Some people may not know what a full swim meet consist of and what each team member participates in. “I swim the 100 butterfly and the 200 butterfly during our meets”. Almindi’19.

All in all, swimming is definitely WTHS students are passionate about the sport and enjoy every moment of it.
