The most wonderful time of the year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to get excited about the holidays. With our stomachs filled from delicious Thanksgiving dinner, the coming holidays can inspire lot of expectations. So make a list of what type of gifts you want to get this holiday season, but do not get sad when everything does not turn out the way you hoped.

During December, students get to experience the much anticipated winter break. They make many plans to hang out with their friends during their time off, and spend some time relaxing from all the stressed filled tests teachers give them before the break. But these plans can sometimes fall apart. Instead of going shopping with your friends, you get stuck helping mom put up the holiday decorations as she sings off tune to old Christmas carols. It may sound like a terrible situation, but as you get older, you will hold onto those memoires and those feelings that come along with decorating for the holidays. There are going to be years where you may not be home for the holidays, so hold onto the moments while you can.

Then there are times when you expect to wake up on Christmas morning, and find neatly wrapped gifts under the tree. Most of the times you do, but then, on Christmas morning, you make the mistake of opening the gifts and find a horrendous piece of clothing your parents

brought because they thought you would love it, but as the saying goes, it’s the thought that counts.

In the coming days, everything will be about Christmas, even though there are still other holidays to be celebrated. Most of the songs on the radio will be about holy nights and how many days of Christmas there is. Most of the movies of will be about Santa Clause and Rudolph. After a while, it gets tiring and repetitive until all the Christmas spirit is drained out of you. But you may want to enjoy these songs while they are out there because they only come around once a year.

Nothing is ever as it seems. Expectations are aimed high only to hit the ground below. A lot of people get these fantasies of how the awesome the holidays might be, when in reality, they are a road of twist and turns.
