New series holds promise for fall premieres

With the new season approaching all the new fall premieres and your favorite shows returning there is a lot of buzz of what is the show to watch this fall. There are of course many of the returning heavy weights such as Empire. But there is also a new show that has just premiered on September 22, 2015 called Scream Queens. There was a two hour premiere but every show is only an hour. It has the promise of being a very promising show for the fall season.

Scream queens is a mix of horror and comedy and it actually does a pretty good job of that. For the premiere is mostly laugh then scare. There were jokes while the characters were being chased or there was a murder scene so it took away from the actual scare factor. The main theme to this show is that there is a sorority called TTK. For a long time the “queens” of the college ran this sorority there would be one leader who is in the present day, Chanel and 3 of her henchmen Chanel #2, #3 and #5 (Chanel #4 went home). But about 20 years ago the sorority threw a party and one of the members gave birth to an unexpected baby in the bathroom but later that night the mother died and the baby died. But now it is 20 years to present time and the sorority is still ran the same but the dean has made a change. Anyone can join the sorority and that has angered Chanel who now puts the new unwelcomed members through “hell week”. As the show progresses more and more people die one by one. First it was a purposeful death done by Chanel to their house maid who did it in hopes of scaring the other girls away but with no avail. But there is one a man or woman dressed in a red devil suit keeps showing up and shortly

after someone from the house or someone they know dies. So the main conflict in this story is trying to find out who is killing everyone and who the person in the red devil costume is. There are many possible people but most them are too obvious. But at the end of the premiere ends on a cliff hanger and a possible answer to who the killer is or if he/she is just a henchman to the main killer. In fact in real life none of the actors know who the killer really is only the director, writer and producer know.

There are many stars that are playing roles in this such as Emma Roberts who plays Chanel, Nick Jonas who plays one of the leaders of the fraternity and Ariana Grande who is Chanel #2. There is amazing special effect and the setting is amazing. The house that the sorority is in is a huge lavish mansion and the campus is amazing as well. The acting is really good, the actors and actresses do a fantastic job at mixing in the comedic side but also do a great job at seeming truly scared. This is a definite must watch. It airs every Tuesday on Fox at 9-10pm.
