Mr. April – Jo’Nathan Silver
If you had to pick anyone beside yourself to win, who would it be?
Most likely Frankie Grunza because I really admire him for being able to attack all of the adversity he faces. It takes a great deal of courage to be able to do the things that he is doing.
What are your future plans?
I am still undecided on what I would like to do after my football career, but I would like to play in the NFL.
What was your memorable high school experience?
Beating Cherokee in my senior football season. We played away at Cherokee, but our student section still made a great effort to attend the game. We ended up winning in overtime and everyone was so happy it really felt like my teammates and I ruled the world.
If you could give one piece of advice to underclassmen, what would it be?
Live in the moment. You only go to high school once, but your experiences stay with you for the rest of your life.
Why do you best represent Washington Township?
I believe I set a good example for kids on how to be a great student/person/athlete. I make sure that I treat everyone with the respect that they deserve, and I always try my best to look out for people and lend a hand whenever I can.
What TV show or Movie character are you most like?
Danny Tanner from Full House because I absolutely hate when things like my room, workspace, or car are messy. R.I.P. Bob Saget.
What’s your go to Wawa order?
Meatball sub with bacon.
Favorite TV show?
Breaking Bad. Best series of all time, no debate.
Favorite Movie?
Christopher Nolan’s Inception
Favorite music artist?
Playboi Carti
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Whole Lotta Red by Playboi Carti. This is easily my favorite album of all time. Playboi Carti reveals parts of his true identity through very passionate lyrics. He talks about heartbreak, drug abuse, and the life of a rockstar. I’ve listened and analyzed this album countless times and it never seems to lose its replay value. Also, the instrumentals by Pi’erre Bourne, F1lthy, and other producers are out of this world.
If you could give yourself one superpower, what would it be?
Probably super hearing. I sometimes like to do a little casual eavesdropping, but I can’t always hear.
If you were stranded on an island what are three things you would bring with you to survive?
My beats, a good novel, and peanut butter. I love peanut butter.
Most inspiring teacher that had an impact on you?
Although I never had her for class, Mrs. Mroz.
Most embarrassing moment?
My sophomore year, my football team had an activity where we did impressions of teammates and coaches. I did an impression of my strength coach and not one person laughed.
Favorite subject?
Science
If you could create a class to add to our school, what would it be?
Piano. The piano is an amazing and very diverse instrument and I feel as though more people should know how to play. Including myself.
If you had to spontaneously give a 20-minute presentation, what would it be on?
My presentation would be about why everyone should listen to several musical genres. I feel as though too many people suffer from only listening to only one or two genres of music. There is an entire world of beautiful music out there that people are missing out on because they don’t want to expand their musical palette.
Dream car?
Probably a Honda Accord.
If you could visit one foreign country, what would it be?
I would most likely go to France. More specifically Paris, France.
If you could only live in one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?
Utah. It is not too populated, and I want to make skiing and snowboarding a hobby of mine when I’m older.
What’s your favorite pickup line?
Hi, I’m Jo, it is very nice to meet you.
What’s your hidden talent?
I can juggle. I don’t know if that counts.
If you can change lives with someone for a day, who would it be?
Any woman. I just want to know what it’s like.
If you won a million dollars, what would you spend it on?
I would add up the cost of Apple Music for the rest of my life and set that amount aside. I truly do not know what I would buy after that, I hate spending money.
Which charity did you choose?
Alex’s Lemonade Stand. I chose this charity because the idea that children have to endure such a difficult situation that most adults would not be able to handle is very inspiring. I also have a friend, Cole Fitzgerald, who has suffered pediatric cancer and is affiliated with this foundation.
