Mr. August – Thomas Tait

If you had to pick anyone beside yourself to win, who would it be?

I genuinely think that everyone deserves it, but if I had to pick one it’d be Eddie Tobler. He’s seriously the nicest guy and is consistently a positive person to be around. He represents what’s great about WTHS.

What are your future plans?

I’m going to Harvard University, where I’ll get my bachelor’s in government, and then eventually run for office.

What was your memorable high school experience?

Senior year Homecoming, or literally any of the DECA events I’ve been to.

If you could give one piece of advice to underclassmen, what would it be?

I’d tell underclassmen to work hard, be yourself, and grow from hardship. I’ve always lived my life by those three things, and it hasn’t failed me yet.

Why do you best represent Washington Township?

I think I best represent Township because I try to remain consistently positive and nice to everyone around me. Since I moved here, I’ve received nothing but kindness from everyone around me, and I’ve always tried to embody that.

What TV show or Movie character are you most like?

Probably Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec

What’s your go to Wawa order?

Italian hoagie with lettuce, tomato, onion, garlic aioli, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Get the whole thing toasted, and then you’re eating the greatest hoagie ever made. I also get a Dulce de Leche latte, it’s the Tom Brady of coffee drinks.

Favorite TV show?

Community

Favorite Movie?

Anchorman.

Favorite music artist?

Billy Joel.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life?

The Stranger by Billy Joel. Every song is consistently amazing.

If you could give yourself one superpower, what would it be?

Teleportation. It never stops being useful and is super practical. Plus, I’d never have to pay for transportation again. Or deal with bad drivers.

If you were stranded on an island what are three things you would bring with you to survive?

One of those clean drinking water straws, solar powered oven, and coffee. Lots of coffee.

Most inspiring teacher that had an impact on you?

Mrs. Pierson, she’s truly the most genuine teacher I’ve ever had. She never stops trying to help me become the best version of myself, and someone that is consistently pushing you is rare. I also want to thank Mrs. Ackley for being awesome since Day 1, she’ll do anything for her students, and I truly appreciate everything she’s done for me.

Most embarrassing moment?

Any one of the countless times I’ve tripped down a hallway and/or staircase.

Favorite subject?

History.

If you could create a class to add to our school, what would it be?

Probably a class dedicated to leadership. A combo psychology and business administration class if you will. Being an expert on leadership is a huge advantage in the job market, and I think taking a class about it would be super interesting.

If you had to spontaneously give a 20-minute presentation, what would it be on?

Why NFL teams should never pay a running back or draft a quarterback before they have an offensive line.

Dream car?

Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet in jet black.

If you could visit one foreign country, what would it be?

Spain or Norway.

If you could only live in one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?

Boston. I’m in love with everything about that city.

What’s your favorite pickup line?

You’re so pretty, I forgot my pickup line.

What’s your hidden talent?

I’m pretty insane at Spikeball.

If you can change lives with someone for a day, who would it be?

Jeff Bezos, I’d go to space then donate all his money.

If you won a million dollars, what would you spend it on?

Let’s be honest here, we’re all paying off college first. I’d invest a lot of it and donate a ton too. I’d also probably buy something insanely outrageous and stupid, maybe a small cottage for my cat.

Which charity did you choose?

I chose the Semper Fi Fund. It’s a charity that helps combat wounded veterans get resources to assist in their emotional and physical recovery. This charity has helped individuals like my dad recover from combat injuries during and after their retirement from the service. It’s an honor to be able to represent the exceptional work they do.
