The doctor returns

The British science fiction television show that has captured the hearts of many and taken on fans from all over the nation has recently returned with its 8th season. Even though Doctor Who was first started in 1963, the episodes have been remade and continue to fulfill every science-fiction-lover’s wildest dreams.
The show centers around the main character, “Doctor Who”, who travels through time and space using only his trusty T.A.R.D.I.S (time and relative dimensions in space), his screwdriver (which is a magical tool he made himself), and a companion, who is one or more people that stay with the Doctor for a certain amount of time and travel with him in space. The actor who plays the Doctor changes each season, and his companion ns change every few seasons.
The new Doctor for season 8 has surprised and shocked many fans. The 12th and newest Doctor, Peter Capaldi, adds a new spin to the traditional doctors. Usually, Doctor Who is relatively younger, in these recent seasons, but because of Capaldi’s age, 56, many fans were intrigued and fascinated with the new adjustment. His thick Scottish accent and hoarse voice also contribute to the new excitement that comes from Capaldi playing the new Doctor, and the new Doctor is all fans can talk about. Some people agree that he is by far the best Doctor out of the 8 seasons, but others worry that he is not fulfilling the stereotypical “Doctor” physique that they have come to know.
Many argue that it does not matter what the Doctor looks like, it only matters how he compares to previous Doctors in his acting and believability aspect of the show. Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor, had unique qualities that truly made him “the best Doctor yet”. Now all we can do is sit back, and wait to see Peter Capaldi take on the new role and watch him dive into the life of Doctor Who.
Either way, this season is a hit. In the second episode of the new season, “Into the Dalek”, the show had an audience of 5.2 million viewers on BBC One. The show is expected to continue to gain viewers and hopes are high for the season. The new season is intriguing, and always leaves me excited for the next episode. Doctor Who is definitely a show worth watching.
