Due to COVID-19 pandemic related shutdowns, Broadway is closed, so what are the fans of musicals to do? Of course we can listen to the soundtracks, but eventually they get dull. The best way to experience a musical is to watch it in full.

The YouTube channel, “The Shows Must Go On”, satiates our hunger for musicals. Every Friday at 2:00 p.m. EST, professionally recorded musicals are uploaded to this channel and can be viewed for free. Though, there is a catch. These musicals are up for only 48 hours at a time due to copyright issues.

This channel also provides links to charities viewers have the option of donating to such as Broadway Cares, a charity that works to fight AIDS. So far, this channel has displayed Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Love Never Dies. If you’re really missing the live musical experience, this might just be the next best thing.
