Conclusion of the 2020 Fall Sports Season

With the district’s suspension of in-person classes until January 11th, sports were forced to stop as well, ending the fall athletic season and postponing the start of the winter season.

The abridged fall season was full of delays, COVID-19 concerns, and even temporary shut-downs. Despite this, WTHS fall athletes continued to compete at a high level in their efforts to bring pride to Township.

Final records:

Boys Cross Country:

South Jersey Group 4 championship meet at Dreamland Park in Logan Township

Team placed fourth overall, behind Cherokee, Cherry Hill East, and Southern Regional. The team’s top three finishers were as follows:

Julian Lawson (16:41.10) placed fifth

Chris Colavita (17:08.30) was 15th

Cole Kolodziej (17:28.70) was 29th

 

Girls Cross Country:

South Jersey Group 4 championship meet at Dreamland Park in Logan Township

Team finished ninth overall, Cherokee won. Township’s top three finishers were as follows:

Maura Keane (20:24.30) was sixth

Amirah Beasley (21:14.70) was 19th

Allyson Wernik (22:44.80) was 46th

 

Football:

Finished 2-2 overall with wins over Shawnee and Eastern

 

Boys Soccer:

Finished 7-3-1 overall

The Minutemen fell to Cherry Hill East 3-2 in the South, West E Group 4 semifinals

 

Girls Soccer:

8-2 overall

Both losses to Eastern, including a 3-0 setback in the South, West D final

Finished at No. 20 in the final Top 20

 

Field Hockey:

5-6 overall

The Minutemaids lost to Shawnee in the South, West D semifinals

 

Now, athletes are looking ahead to an uncertain winter athletic season
