First Column Entry- Nutrition

Nutrition. It’s a very important thing that most of us overlook.  Usually the first thing us teens do right after we get back from school is grab a bag of potato chips and lay on the couch and practically finish the whole entire bag without even realizing it. But what if we came home and grabbed a plate of apples with peanut butter and finished the whole entire plate. You would feel so much better and healthy after eating a plate of apples. The purpose of starting this column is so I can inform my readers about healthy ways to eat and exercise, also while giving one fun healthy food recipe at the end of each column!

One important issue I’d like to talk about first is exercise. Most people do not have a lot of free time to exercise. But something that I like to do is try to make a small amount of time each day towards the end of the night to exercise. Something you can do is set an alarm on your phone for a specific time each night so you don’t somehow forget that you need to exercise. If you exercise enough it can drastically change your weight and also can help you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Teens are actually supposed to get 60 minutes of exercise each day. If you play a sport that you have practice for everyday that is a really great way to get some exercise for the day! Exercising doesn’t always have to wear you down and make you super tired and sore the next day. Exercising can be as simple as just doing a couple pushups in the morning just to stretch out. But another very important thing is, if you eat unhealthy; there is no way for you to see any results when you exercise. Eating healthy is also a very important subject that contributes greatly to the exercising factor. We will talk about eating healthy more in next week’s column.

All in all, exercising can make such a huge difference in your life and it’s something that really changes your life in great ways. Exercising revitalizes you and boots your strength if you work out enough and it’s just a great thing to do to keep you happy and healthy.
