What is the charity you chose to represent?
Breakthrough T1D as my dad is a diabetic. The cure to diabetes is right on our fingertips and research is developing every day. Although my dad is an onset diabetic, I don’t want to see young kids have to deal with the limitations that diabetes presents. I spent the summer fundraising for the foundation as well and had a great time.
Why do you best represent WTHS?
Being a student WTHS means to be an active part of the community in your own way. I try my best to get to know all kinds of students at WTHS and treat everyone with basic respect. By trying to balance all the parts of my life, I try to stay involved in the community. I am not a flawless person and I actually often make mistakes, but I believe that growing from them and uplifting the community allows me to best represent WTHS.
Favorite music artist:
Recently, I’ve been in my hispanic arc and have been listening to El Alfa, SHOUTOUT MIAMI. Of all time though? I would say I always find my way back to listening to The Weeknd.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you bring with you?
a lighter, saratoga water, and a banana
What teacher or faculty member has made the biggest impact on your high school career?
Mr. Faust by forcing me to really think and developing my visualization skills. I learned to be able to think my way out of most problems and I thank him for that.
What is your go-to Wawa order?
a chicken strip sandwich and barbeque chips
What has been your most embarrassing moment at WTHS?
There was one time in junior year my airpods disconnected during the pledge of allegiance in the class council homeroom, and “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift played out loud at max volume. I didn’t let it go for a week, but it was funny.
What advice would you give to underclassmen about high school? About life?
Really take in every day that you are still in high school. Try to create goals and chase them, but at the same time take in what’s around you and make decisions to maximize your experience here. The reality is that everybody is living their own life and nobody really cares about what you do as much as you think they do, so take that as a form of freedom to enjoy your life and chase the success that you want for yourself.
What are your plans and goals for after high school?
I am going to Rutgers Honors College on a full ride, and I will try to work my way up to medical school. Once I am medically licensed, I will either practice and hopefully open a practice, but there are many paths so I’ll see when I hopefully get there.
What is something about you most people do not know?
I am Iron Man.
Who in your life has had the biggest influence on you?
My dad is easily the biggest influence on me. I genuinely think me and my dad are carbon copies of each other. We have the same humor, work ethic, stubbornness, and more all thanks to the man himself. I am grateful that my dad is who he is and for shaping me into the person I am today.
