What is the charity you chose to represent?
I chose the National Down Syndrome Congress, because of my cousin Gabby. Gabby has down syndrome and is one of the sweetest and funniest people I know. She’s a senior here at the high school, and some of you may know her. Choosing this charity is my way of honoring her and supporting her and others like her.
Why do you best represent WTHS?
I’m very involved in our school community. I play lacrosse and am involved in over ten clubs. Beyond school, I volunteer with different organizations and am always looking for ways to give back and help others in need.
If you could pick anyone beside yourself to win, who would it be?
Faaz Syed. He’s a great student, great friend, and one of the most involved people I know. He’s always putting in the effort to make school a better place, whether it’s through starting a new club, or just being an all around great guy. He would be an excellent choice to win Mr. WT.
Favorite music artist:
Pearl Jam!
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you bring with you?
a lighter, an axe, and my fishing rod
What teacher or faculty member has made the biggest impact on your high school career?
Mr. Tsoukalis. I’ve had him for the past two years, and he has helped me grow so much as a student. The first lesson he ever taught was how to study properly, and that simple skill has made a huge difference in my success. But besides that, he’s more than just a teacher, he’s someone who genuinely cares about his students and their success. To me, he’s not just a teacher, he’s a friend.
What is your go-to Wawa order?
Bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. I might get a french vanilla coffee too if I’m tired, or a red gatorade.
What has been one of the most memorable aspects of your high school experience?
Senior Directed. Being part of it was an unforgettable experience, and I only wish I had done it for more than just one year. The energy, the creativity, and the friendships I made during the show are things I’ll always remember. Every skit I was in was an absolute blast, and I know I’ll be looking back on those memories for years to come. I AM YOUR MOTHER!
What advice would you give to underclassmen about high school? About life?
Be friendly to everyone. It costs nothing to be kind, but the benefits are unlimited. You never know how much a simple smile or small act of kindness can mean to someone. Also, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Join clubs, try new things, and make the most of every opportunity. High school flies by, so make it count.
What are your plans and goals for after high school?
Attend a four year college and pursue a degree in Finance or Economics, I’m passionate about things like the stock market and investing, and I hope to one day help other people with it.
Who in your life has had the biggest influence on you?
My Dad. He’s someone I’ve always looked up to, and he’s taught me so many valuable life lessons. He’s the one who introduced me to a lot of my interests, like the music I listen to and investing. Beyond that, he’s always been there to support me, give me advice, and push me to be the best version of myself.
What has been the best part about being on Mr. WT?
The experience. I’ve made so many new and fun memories, grown closer with the people involved, and had so much fun while doing so.
