What is the charity you chose to represent?

The Senior Trip Fund. Because of the pandemic, I can say for almost everyone that senior year isn’t what we imagined (definitely not like High School Musical 3). One of the highlights of senior year for most happens to be senior trip and I want to be able to help some seniors, even if it’s just a couple, make amazing memories on the senior trip.

Why do you best represent WTHS?

In my mind, WTHS is about giving back to others, helping others, and being involved. I try my best to live up to these three by doing as much as I can to give back, help others, and stay involved in numerous school activities.

What is your favorite pick up line?

Even if I were the Imposter…the only thing I’d kill you with is my love.

If you could pick anyone beside yourself to win, who would it be?

It’s so hard to pick out of a lovely group but I would pick Destini Allen. She just stays so positive and goes out of her way to uplift people when they’re feeling down. She also doesn’t fail to remind people to be optimistic and most of all, isn’t afraid to stand up for what is right.

Favorite food?

French fries with a fork.

Favorite movie?

It’s a tie between Frozen II and Big Hero 6.

Favorite music artist?

Shawn Mendes

Favorite quarantine activity?

Scrolling through TikTok for hours.

How have you gotten through quarantine and social distancing?

I checked in with my friends throughout quarantine and even though I couldn’t see them, I tried my best to text them to see how they’re doing. I’ve also played wayyyy too many games of Monopoly and Uno with my dad and my sister.

What has been your most embarrassing moment at WTHS?

Tripping on the first day of school…for the last four years (seriously, every year on the first day, I always trip and hit the ground).

What has been one of the most memorable aspects of your high school experience?

Definitely being able to be part of so many school activities. Whether they know it or not, through so many activities, each person that I met along over these last few years has made an impact on me. I was even able to meet some of my best friends and have been able to make some incredible memories that I will remember for a lifetime.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My height. Being 5’3” doesn’t seem bad but put my height and my inability to wear taller shoes like wedges or heels, it’s a disaster waiting to happen. If I could just be a tad taller, I wouldn’t have to wear heels anymore!!

What advice would you give to underclassmen about high school? About life?

Always be kind no matter what. You could walk a mile in another person’s shoes but would only get a small glimpse of what they’re going through. So be kind to others and spread kindness as much as possible.

What are your plans and goals for after high school?

To attend a four-year university and study computer science and business. Hopefully I will be able to combine those two fields in my everyday life.

What teacher or faculty member has made the biggest impact on your high school career?

Mrs. Nelson, my guidance counselor. I am extremely lucky to have her as my guidance counselor because she has always been encouraging and realistic about my goals and aspirations. She never sugar coated anything and did everything in her power to help me succeed. Mrs. Nelson has also been so open since day one and always made time for me to share any concerns I had and for that, I am grateful for.

Who in your life has had the biggest influence on you?

My mom. She has drilled life lessons in my head since the day I could understand the alphabet about giving back, helping others, and staying optimistic. Without her, I would also be entirely lost because she is my confidant or go-to person. I also could not find a better supporter than her and wouldn’t trade the late night lectures and lessons for anything else.

What is one thing you cannot live without?

I don’t think I could live without my phone. I know it sounds cliché, but my phone has all of my reminders for appointments and meetings, is the device I can use to talk to my friends or family – in the United States borders or outside, and helps me kill time.

What is something about you that most people do not know?

Most people don’t know that I have a collection of yellow rubber ducks, 20 to be exact.

Describe yourself in three words:

Friendly, optimistic, and nerdy.

If you could bring one person, thing, and appliance to a deserted island, what would it be?

On a deserted island, I would bring my younger sister Jessica because she would probably figure out how to get us out or how to make us food. I would also bring a first aid kit in the case of an emergency as well as a portable kettle so we can at least stay hydrated.

What has been the best part about being on the Homecoming Court?

Being able to spend time with a group of girls that have been nothing but supportive and encouraging towards each other. All of the other girls haven’t stopped to dwell on what “homecoming could’ve been without the pandemic” but instead have made the best with the situation.
