Hamilton Review

On Jan. 10, 2018, I took a trip New York City, to see the hit Broadway show, Hamilton.  I have been obsessed with the music and the book and the cast, I had waited long enough. I was so happy and amazed because it was a fantastic show and I wanted to watch it repeatedly. I loved that it tells a story about the life of Alexander Hamilton through hip-hop. The sets the music the cast selections, everything wonderful and produced to the best ability.

There was not a lot of dialogue in this show, the characters were interacting through music. Lin Manuel Miranda wrote the lyrics, the book, and the music. This interpretation of something that happened 250 years ago performed on stage, was astonishing. The lighting enhanced the mood of the songs and the people have beautiful voices.  The show plays at the Richard Rodgers theater, on Broadway, in Times Square. This musical has won many awards, and now that I have seen it, I completely see why. So many things happened in the show, a love story, a war, and political infighting.  There are 1,319, even with that many seats it was still very packed together, but even if you had a seat towards the back, like I did, you can see everything.

When listening to the music, many people are familiar with the voices of the original Broadway cast.  Most people want to see the original cast perform. When I went, there was a completely different cast and I loved it, they were just as good as the original cast. To hear the music sung by different voices really blew my mind. The songs were really well sung and I couldn’t believe how good the actors and actresses voices were. The costumes were fantastic and they the characters were portrayed was outstanding.

I had a wonderful time being in New York City and I would want to live there if I could, and the Richard Rodgers theater is in the perfect spot in the city.is musical was created in 2015 and it’s still a full house every show, and sold out till Dec. This musical reveals that the seemingly boring story of a founding father is actually much more interesting if you take the time to consider the human struggle behind the surface facts. If you ever get a chance to see Hamilton, you should because I really enjoyed it.
