What is the charity you chose to represent?
I chose Room to Read because it helps to spread literacy throughout underdeveloped Asian and African countries. Reading has always been an important part of my life, and I hope that the passion I feel for it can be spread to these areas as well. It also promotes education for girls in these countries, which is important because I am a huge proponent for gender equality.
Why do you best represent WTHS?
I think I best represent WTHS because I am passionate about the school and the people who go here. I truly am appreciating my time in high school with my friends and I wish others would be inspired by my enthusiasm.
What is your favorite pick up line?
Do you like Harry Potter? Because I adumbledore you.
If you could pick anyone beside yourself to win, who would it be?
Alexa Liss, definitely! We have been best friends since we were four and someone that managed to put up with me for over a decade deserves some recognition.
Favorite food?
Whipped cream, no question.
Favorite movie?
Harry Potter. All of them.
Favorite music artist?
This is a loaded question. Depends on the day, I guess. Sometimes Beyoncé or Kanye when I need to hype myself up, but on chill days I’ll listen to Paramore or The Wonder Years.
What has been your most embarrassing moment at WTHS?
Another tough question considering I embarrass myself more and more every day. I was a freshman and the (super attractive) captain of the basketball team hit me in the face with a door in G-hall. I was the one who apologized.
What has been one of the most memorable aspects of your high school experience?
Becoming a member of StuCo has positively impacted my high school career. It has helped me make some of my best friends and contribute to the school in ways that would be otherwise impossible.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would give myself wings. That would be sick.
If you could change one thing about the world you live in, what would it be?
I would have everyone just be understanding of each other. It confuses me to no end why people are not able to let other people just live.
What advice would you give to underclassmen about high school? About life?
THERE IS A SWIMMING POOL ON THE THIRD FLOOR. DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYONE THAT TELLS YOU DIFFERENTLY. Also, go to all your school functions so you can enjoy high school while you can, and always be kinder than necessary.
What are your plans and goals for after high school?
I plan to go to school for neurology, then work in a hospital researching and diagnosing different diseases of the brain. In addition, I will have at least four dogs.
What teacher or faculty member has made the biggest impact on your high school career?
Mr. Byatt made me realize that getting the best grades does not necessarily mean that you are the best. He values kindness and humility over bravado and I really respect that.
Who in your life has had the biggest influence on you?
Even though he is less than two months old, my nephew has had the biggest influence. He has taught me patience and how to become a better multitasker.
What is one thing you can not live without?
Coffee and good books. That’s two things sorry.
What is something about you that most people do not know?
I can clap with one hand, don’t ask to see it if you get easily grossed out.
Describe yourself in three words.
Super duper fun.
If you could bring one person, thing, and appliance to a deserted island, what would it be?
I would bring Emma Watson, a bag of fruit, and a blender. She would be forced to hang out with me and we could drink delicious smoothies.
What has been the best part about being on the Homecoming Court?
So far, I’ve just enjoyed the company of the other girls and how we can all laugh about our inability to dance.
